Storm Clouds

"The clouds are the dust of his feet." -Nahum 1:3

Lilias Trotter wrote of this verse:  "The beauty of that old line of Hebrew poetry came afresh today.  The thickest of the cloud storm would be just where He is passing.  We see the dust now.  We shall see His Footprints when He has passed along the way."

After the storm has passed, for it always will, there is a stillness we may not have noticed before.  The storm may have left downed trees and flooded streets, but the rain clears the air, and the wind blows away the dead leaves.  While storms can be unpredictable what we can be sure of is that God is here, there and everywhere.

I am grateful that even in the midst of gathering storm clouds I can count on God to be my shelter.
