God of All

"The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things."  -Acts 17:24-25

The words carved over the window of this church in Harpers Ferry are from Ephesians 4:5:  "One Lord... One Faith... One Baptism."   I was struck by the number of steeples on this small church overlooking the Shenandoah River.  The purpose of steeples on churches is to point upward toward the heavens--toward God--as a reminder to the Church who it belongs to.  We have one Lord who is the maker of all things.  Together we receive from Him all that we need and together we should give thanks for all that He has given us.

I am grateful that I belong to God and that He is with me wherever I am.
