Life's Challenges

"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
-Ecclesiastes 4:12b

"Two are better than one" King Solomon tells us.  If one falls, the other is there to help.  Plus, when they lie down to sleep they can keep each other warm.  He concludes the passage with today's verse:  A cord of three strands is not easily broken.  When the Holy Spirit is our third strand the cord canNOT be broken.  When a marriage is strengthened with the third strand of the Holy Spirit, it will be the strongest it can ever be.  Weathering life's challenges--like the hurricanes and earthquakes, wars and various other tumults and calamities--all can be borne when the third strand is God Himself.  Like the older child reaching out to hold the hands of the two younger children, when we accept Christ's outstretched hands a bond is formed that cannot be broken.

I am grateful when the stresses of life seem about to overwhelm, I only need remember God is with me.
