Embracing Change

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

I love this quote by Melody Ross of Brave Girls Club:  "Every flower is a bud and then a blossom and then turns to seeds...and more flowers grow later." She was writing about how things change all the time so we must learn to "roll with it."  Melody continued, "Change is what gets us where we need to be, what drives us to do things we wouldn't have done otherwise, and what helps us see things more clearly.  Change wakes us up, keeps things exciting and makes us try harder.  Change brings on appreciation for where we have been, makes us more careful about where we are going, and helps us weed out everything that is not good for our lives."  Melody's words makes change something to look forward to, so why do we so often shrink from change?

In Ecclesiastes we are reminded that there is a season for everything.  With Christ in our life we can embrace each season, squeezing every ounce of joy from it so that the spent blossom can once again set seed, bud, unfurl, then blossom again and again.

I am grateful that everything in my life can be used to help me blossom in Christ.
