And suddenly there
appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men
with whom He is pleased.”
-Luke 2:13-14
The following is included on the YouTube post for the above video and something we should give deep thought to:
"Men are everywhere saying or thinking, "Where is the goodwill among men? Where is the peace on earth that was promised?" Yes, but go on with your questions. You have not finished the song. You have left its initial and primary note. I must finish your series of questions, and I must be allowed to ask, "Where is the glory to God in the highest?" We have fixed our eyes upon the third phrase of the angel's song "Goodwill among men"; or upon the second phrase, "peace on earth!" And we have overlooked the first phrase, the phrase which is casual and causative "glory to God in the highest." That is to say, we have begun at the end, and left out the beginning. We have been concerned about fruits, but we have been careless about roots. If you will really think about the matter, it is clear that we have been wanting rivers to arise without any gathering grounds or springs. That is the explanation of our disillusionment. We have laid hold of the chain at the second link, or the third link, and we have strangely overlooked the first. John Henry Jowett"
