In scripture the analogy of iron sharpening iron comes from how a knife is sharpened. You draw the blade across the whetstone at an angle after lubricating the stone with mineral oil. I, too, need to "lubricate" any "sharpening" I'm called to do by applying love when I must admonish those who have stumbled and fallen or have left God's path for their lives.
