Winter before last we had a power outage that lasted 32 hours....but we were prepared. We have two fireplaces which we used to heat the house and cook our dinner, a stock of candles and charged-up flashlights (one is a hand-cranked model with radio), buckets of water for flushing the toilet and gallons for drinking and cooking (we have a well), sterno for heating water so we could make drip coffee, and because it was winter, we set the food from the refrigerator out on the screened porch! Then we settled back to enjoy this time of candlelit/fireside evenings. Being ready for Christ's return is much the same.....and I am prepared for that, too, whenever that might be.
