"Now, LORD, our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, LORD, are God." -2 Kings 19:19
Being carrion eaters these turkey vultures were lined up on the fence waiting near the road we were driving along when I took this photo. In today's scripture the Israelites were beseeching God to deliver them from the Syrians or else there bodies would soon become carrion.
For those who are "dead in their sins" are without hope and are living carrion--vulnerable to being picked over by those wishing to take advantage of them. But Praise God! We have a living hope who delivers us from evil when we put our trust in the cross of Christ.
I am grateful for God's deliverance.
