Sanctification

"They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."  -John 17:16-17

Today's verse is Jesus's prayer for his disciples--which includes his disciples today--us.  This Lenten Rose was in bloom on January 18th this year in my garden.  We hadn't even begun to think about clearing away the leaves from the garden beds yet let alone doing it.  Some days I feel like this Lenten Rose, blooming for Christ among the dead leaves.  When I was in my twenties I felt I could only live the Christian life successfully if everyone around me did also.  But as I read the Bible I discovered that the Holy Spirit was there to lead and guide me into sanctification if I were open to being led.

God calls us to bloom where we are wherever we are, and He provides what we need to do so.

I am grateful that all things are possible with God.
