I have been practicing drawing by looking at others' drawings and copying them. This has helped me to gain some confidence that I CAN indeed learn to draw! But until I start practicing how to draw from the real objects--not just from another artist's rendition--I won't really be an artist. Right now I'm a copyist. I can also love by mimicking God's love, but until I love from my own heart it is not geniune. The only way to learn to love genuinely is to practice loving genuinely.
