The Mystery

"Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:  He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."  -1 Timothy 3:16

Fog always makes everything look mysterious because it only allows glimpses of what it shrouds.  Yet, at the same time objects in the foreground stand out more.  When Jesus Christ came into the world as a man the shroud of mystery was removed for us.  He revealed what true godliness was and where it could be attained--by believing in Him and what He came to do--remove our sins from us so that the Holy Spirit could do His work in us.

I am grateful for the transforming power of the Holy Spirit knowing I no longer walk in darkness.  While there are things I do not fully understand, I no longer need fear them.
