"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said!" -Matthew 28:6a
Yesterday we went on a guided wildflower walk along the C&O Canal near Shepherdstown, WV. Our guide left the path and took us up a trail on a ridge overlooking the canal. We had a beautiful view of the surrounding area over- looking the Potomac River in addition to the wildflowers that lay at our feet along the path. When we descended the trail and returned to the towpath we could see the tall cliff we'd been on and discovered this cave at the bottom of one. There was even a path that led up to it.
Jesus' body was laid in a cave and a stone rolled over the entrance. When the women arrived Sunday morning to anoint his body with the perfumes and ointments they'd prepared they discovered an angel instead who informed them that Jesus was not there. He had risen just as He said He would!
I am grateful for Jesus Resurrection because His Spirit lives on in me now, transforming me as I yield to Him, and ensuring my eternal life with Him.
