"Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars." -Psalm 148:3
We were in Key West, Florida earlier this year with friends who took us to Sunset Pier where every evening people gather to watch the sun go down. There were street performers and vendors all along the pier to add to the festivities. As the sun edged closer to the water a hush grew over the crowd. The only thing you could hear were camera shutters clicking away. Then the sun disappeared below the horizon and applause broke out! For many in the crowd it was their way of expressing their appreciation for the beauty and splendor of such a magnificent scene. For me, it was about offering the praise to God for creating such a grand display. Likewise, the Psalmist tells the sun and the moon to praise God as their Creator.
I am grateful that God has provided the sun that allows this earth to sustain life and for the lovely colors it creates when it rises and sets over the horizon.
