Constant Companion

Jesus said: "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." - John 14:18

When our granddaughter visits she is our constant companion.  She is like our shadow, always wanting to be with one of us.

In today's Our Daily Bread Anne Cetas writes about an elderly woman in a nursing home who never spoke to anyone and didn't have many visitors.  One of the nurses would come into her room from time to time and simply sit with her.  After a few months the woman spoke to her and said, "Thank you for rocking with me."  Anne likens this to how the Holy Spirit is our companion now, constantly with us.  This is a good reminder for us when we are feeling lonely--we are never alone!  God is with us constantly.

I am grateful that I am never truly alone.
