"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 8:38-39
In 1733 the only way to cross the Potomac River where it meets the Shenandoah River in Harpers Ferry, WV was by ferry. A road bridge was built in 1824 and then the railroad trestle in 1839. You can see the train trestle in my photo. The original one was destroyed during the Civil War. It's replacement was washed away in the flood of 1936 as was the road bridge. I can imagine the problems that arose when people were separated from the other shore during these disasters.
Paul tells us that nothing can separate us from God's love. Nothing.
I am grateful that I can not be separated from God's love.
