These posts mark where Henry David Thoreau sited his cabin. It overlooks the pond--a very serene place in which to contemplate life. Thoreau wanted to simplify his life--get it down to the bare essentials--so that he could get a better understanding of what life was all about. The disciples' desire was to present the Gospel in simple terms. Jesus came from God, He died for our sins, He arose from the grave to return to God. And all we need do is to believe our debt has been paid by Jesus so that we can receive His Life--the Holy Spirit. The exchange for our old life for His Life is as simple as saying, Yes!
