"How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures." -Psalm 104:24
In today's Our Daily Bread Keila Ochoa tells us that the Hummingbird gets its name from the sound its wings make as they beat up to 200 times a second. In the Mexican Zapotec language the Hummingbird is called "biulu" which means "what remains in the eye." Ochoa writes, "In other words, once you see a hummingbird, you'll never forget it." She quotes G. K. Chesterton. . . .
The world will never starve for want of wonders, but only for want of wonder.I think most of us have given of ourselves to others only to feel unappreciated because our gift was never acknowledged or seemingly appreciated by the receiver. We should remember this when we take God's many gifts to us for granted. Every day is an opportunity for us to be in awe of God's creation and the many "extras" He provides in addition to our basic needs. Let us have eyes that notice the wonders and hearts that praise God.
I am grateful that the world is full of many wonders to enjoy!
Praise GOD for the wonders that HE gives us!
