"How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!" -Hebrews 9:14
I suspect the reason we love snow so much is that it covers up the drab brown. It clings to tree trunks and decorates the otherwise bare branches. Winter takes all the color out of the garden, but a layer of white snow makes up for it. When Jesus died for our sins, He covered all our missteps so that we could be freed from guilty consciences. And in doing so, freed us to be in a relationship with God.
I am grateful that my conscience has been washed white as snow so that I am free to serve and enjoy God's blessings.
I love the visual of snow .. washing us clean. Pure, and in Minnesota you really feel it.. if you are up north where I lived all my life.. and step outside in the sparkle snow when it is zero or below zero and you look across the frozen sparkling lake.. with the moon out.. well that is a scene hard to capture in your mind if you have not seen and experienced it. Few have.. and I am blessed to have had it every winter since I was seventeen... so quiet you can not hear a thing..... pure and clean.. God blanketing it all.. with his love for us.. and yes, it is a symbol of us being cleansed.. and the world being cleansed.. from darkness and error thoughts.. proof of Our Father.. and of his son Jesus.. polishing up our souls.. cleaning out our hearts.... and resorting us to His glory... his lambs.. washed clean.
