In today's Our Daily Bread Amy Boucher Pye writes about the power of the wind using an example of a kite surfer she saw as she walked along a beach then adds, "Through [His prophet Amos], the Lord reminded His people of His power as He called them back to Himself. Because they had not obeyed Him, He said He would reveal Himself to them. Although we see His judgment here, we know from elsewhere in the Bible of His sacrificial love in sending His Son to save us."
Even though I do not feel that God sent the wind to knock this tree down over our driveway, I do believe that it is a reminder of the power of God's creation. It is also a reminder that while I am subject to the forces around me God is a greater Force.
I am grateful that God reveals Himself to me through His creation to remind me not only of His Power but His Love.
So powerfully true... there is ONE source, one Force... that is God's force... and since God is Good and all his thoughts are good toward his loving Spiritual creation.. surely he does not see trees falling or winds blowing but only has Purer eyes than to behold evil and like in the boat with his disciples.. when they were sore afraid.. and begged him to awaken... he groaned... and asked them where their Trust was... and he turned to his Father and said simply;" Peace be Still." and the waters calmed...... he always acknowledge the ONE SOURCE, ONE FORCE... and the words came to him to utter through the HOly Spirit. and healing happened...... so powerful to keep in our thoughts..no matter what is swirling around us.. God is its center and circumference.... I am endeavoring to gain deep understanding of this Truth as it brings powerful peace with it..x Merri
